The Global Flute Excellence Awards, presented by Flute Almanac, proudly announce the official opening of the nomination period for the upcoming awards cycle — an international celebration dedicated to recognizing outstanding achievements in the world of flute performance, education, composition, craftsmanship, and advocacy.

Created to honor excellence across all dimensions of the flute community, the Awards shine a spotlight on individuals and ensembles whose artistry, leadership, and contributions have enriched our field. With participation from more than 250 countries and a broad international audience, the Global Flute Excellence Awards continue to grow as one of the most respected recognitions in the global flute world.

A Prestigious Global Initiative

Guided by an international jury of distinguished artists, educators, and scholars, the Awards uphold the highest standards of integrity and artistic merit. The program is honored by the leadership of its Honorary Chairs — Sir James Galway and Lady Jeanne Galway — whose legendary careers and tireless advocacy for the artistic development of flutists around the world embody the spirit of excellence the Awards seek to celebrate.

This year’s Awards also welcome the support of Honorary Patrons, whose involvement reinforces the Global Flute Excellence Awards as a unifying initiative for the worldwide flute community.

Nominations Open on December 1st

The nomination period for the current awards cycle is open December 1–31, welcoming submissions from across the global flute community. Anyone may nominate—colleagues, students, ensembles, institutions, and individuals are all invited to recognize the artists and leaders whose impact deserves international attention.

All finalists and winners are selected through a transparent reviewing process, evaluated by an international jury and verified through statistical review to ensure fairness and consistency.

Winners will be announced on January 10, 2026.
