Meet the 2025 Honorees
Guoliang Han
Guoliang Han is one of China’s most distinguished flutists, educators, and cultural leaders. Professor of Flute at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, former Principal Flutist of the China National Symphony Orchestra, and President of the China Flute Association, he has played a central role in shaping the modern landscape of flute performance and education in China while maintaining a strong international presence.
Educated at the Central Conservatory of Music and later at Boston University in the United States, Han’s artistic formation bridges Eastern and Western musical traditions. As a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer, he has appeared throughout Europe, North America, Australasia, and East Asia, collaborating with internationally renowned conductors and artists. His extensive discography reflects a refined artistic voice rooted in clarity, structural awareness, and expressive discipline.
Beyond performance, Han has developed a far-reaching pedagogical legacy that has shaped generations of flutists. His students have achieved distinction in major national and international competitions and have gone on to professional careers in leading orchestras and academic institutions. Through masterclasses, festivals, adjudication, and educational initiatives, he continues to strengthen international exchange and elevate standards of flute education across generations.
