2024 Honoree — Stefán Ragnar Höskuldsson (Iceland / USA)

In recognition of his extraordinary artistry, technical brilliance, and profound musical expression, as well as his exceptional contribution to expanding the flute repertoire through the premiere of Lowell Liebermann’s new Flute Concerto.

His inspiring performances and unwavering commitment to excellence have earned him the admiration and respect of the global flute community.

In 2025, Stefán Ragnar Höskuldsson joined the Berliner Philharmoniker as Principal Flute, following a distinguished decade with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, where he has served in the same role since 2015.

An internationally acclaimed soloist and chamber musician, he has performed across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, appearing in broadcasts, recordings, and tours with leading conductors and ensembles.
