Our Mission
The Global Flute Excellence Awards were created to recognize exceptional contributions to the international flute world — not by asking who is “best,” but by identifying work that deserves to be seen, remembered, and celebrated.
Excellence takes many forms. It may be found in an extraordinary performance, a lifetime devoted to teaching, an instrument transformed through craftsmanship, a composition that expands the repertoire, an idea that changes how we think, or quiet advocacy that strengthens a community.
The Awards were founded to make space for all of these forms of achievement.
Our mission is to recognize artists, teachers, makers, composers, innovators, researchers, ensembles, advocates, and emerging voices whose work contributes meaningfully to the life and future of the flute.
Recognition is guided by an international jury representing different countries, traditions, professional backgrounds, and perspectives. Rather than reducing achievement to a single hierarchy, the Awards consider excellence within the context of each field and each contribution.
At their heart, the Global Flute Excellence Awards are about visibility, recognition, and legacy — ensuring that meaningful work, wherever it happens, has an opportunity to be acknowledged beyond its immediate circle.

It has been an honor to be the only Spanish nominee and to represent symphonic flamenco and the flamenco flute. My appreciation goes to Yulia Berry for her vision and dedication—this much-needed event brings visibility to so much art and to flutists around the world.
