To secure this work for the future, Ludwig Böhm founded the Theobald Böhm Archive, the Theobald Böhm Society, and the Theobald Böhm Foundation, creating enduring institutional structures that support research, publications, lectures, and historically informed performance worldwide.
In 2025, his lifelong mission took particularly visible and international form through the 6th International Theobald Böhm Competition for Flute and Alto Flute, held in Munich. Bringing together young flutists from numerous countries, the competition united historical awareness with the future of flute performance and education. Plans are already confirmed for the 7th edition of the competition in 2028, underscoring that this work is ongoing rather than retrospective.
Alongside this, Ludwig Böhm continues to share his research globally through lectures and educational outreach across Europe, Asia, the Americas, and beyond, directly engaging students, educators, and performers with the roots of their instrument.
The Global Flute Excellence Awards congratulate Ludwig Böhm on this distinguished nomination and recognize the profound global importance of cultural preservation within the flute world.
The Lifetime Achievement Award nomination for Ludwig Böhm will be reviewed and formally confirmed by the international judging panel, which has access to the complete nomination materials and supporting documentation.
